Why I Started DM’s Luxury Treats

Baking has always been woven into the happiest moments of my life. As a child, I would bake simple treats with my mum –  sticky fingers, flour-dusted counters and the joy of creating something comforting for the people I love.

As I grew older, I went through baking phases, testing recipes and feeding friends and family, who would always say, “You should make this a business!” But at the time, business wasn’t my goal. I was happily working as a Kindergarten teacher, nurturing the youngest children and watching them learn and grow.

Then came the lockdowns, and like many, I felt the stress and uncertainty of that season. Baking became my calm place, a creative outlet that was freeing and rewarding in a different way a happy, comforting space where I could bring joy to others through delicious treats.

I’ve always been a bit of a foodie, known for making three-course meals for my family on “my special cooking day.” And as a bit of a perfectionist, I put my all into everything I do. Each and every order is made with love and attention to detail, because I believe everyone deserves a little luxury in life. At DM’s Luxury Treats, that means beautiful, delicious bakes that put a smile on the faces of those who receive them and a “mmm” when they taste them!

For a long time, I was too nervous to promote my bakes or start a business. The idea felt overwhelming, but in 2021, I decided to be brave and created my Instagram page, sharing my first bakes with the world and DM’s Luxury Treats was born.

Customer service, communication, and happy customers are incredibly important to me, so when you order with me, you can rest assured you’re in good hands. I love meeting so many of you in person at markets, hearing your stories, and seeing your reactions as you try my bakes. The feedback truly means the world to me many have told me that my cookies and brownies are “the best I’ve ever had!” and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing that joy firsthand.

What started as a comforting hobby has now grown into a way to add a touch of luxury to weddings, baby showers, anniversaries, and those “just because” moments that deserve something special.
